All About the CAASPP.

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is designed to measure students' progress and proficiency in key academic areas.

The CAASPP testing is conducted annually and includes two main components: the Summative Assessments and the Interim Assessments.

The Summative Assessments are administered once a year and assess students' grade-level skills in English Language Arts/Literacy and Mathematics. These tests provide valuable insights into your child's strengths and areas for improvement, helping guide instruction and tailor support to their individual needs.

Practicing for the CAASPP at Home

To help students become familiar with the testing format and gain confidence, we encourage them to complete practice tests. These practice tests simulate the actual CAASPP assessment and can be accessed through the following links:

Just like practicing for a sporting event or musical performance, practicing for the CAASPP assessment can help students feel more comfortable and prepared on test day. It allows them to become familiar with the types of questions, the test interface, and the time management required to successfully complete the assessment.

Testing Anxiety

We understand that testing can sometimes induce anxiety in students. However, please assure your child that the purpose of the CAASPP testing is not to stress or label them, but rather to provide a snapshot of their progress and growth. The results will be used to inform our teaching practices, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate their achievements.
As parents, your support and encouragement play a vital role in helping your child navigate through the testing process. Here are some tips to help your child perform their best:

1. Encourage them to get a good night's sleep before the test.
2. Provide a healthy breakfast on the test day.
3. Remind them to read and follow the instructions carefully.
4. Encourage them to take their time and answer each question to the best of their ability.
5. Emphasize the importance of a positive attitude and doing their personal best.
We are confident that with your support, our students will approach the CAASPP testing with confidence and determination. Should you have any questions
